DESCRIPTION:
Asa Wilkins, Wiscasset, Maine, tall clock, 8 day time & bell strike weight driven movement in a soft wood case with cherry highlights, fluted hood columns and bracket feet. Painted iron dial with date calendar and moon phases, c1810
CONDITION:
the case retains an old finish, but the hood and trunk are a marriage, the trunk being later. The finials are absent and the center chimney has been replaced. The glass is missing on the right side of the hood. The movement is complete but will need service and is not original to the lower part of the case, which is later than the hood and the movement. The second hand is missing. Ht 85"
